CourseSteward Terms
The basic terms governing use of the CourseSteward website and subscription service.

These public terms provide a general framework. Any signed order, subscription agreement or specific commercial terms agreed with a customer take priority where they expressly differ.
1. The service
CourseSteward is training-management software provided by Merewick Systems. Features may be improved, replaced or expanded as the service develops.
2. Accounts
Customers are responsible for keeping account credentials secure, providing accurate information and ensuring users access CourseSteward only with appropriate authority. Customers should tell us promptly if they believe an account has been compromised.
3. Customer responsibility
CourseSteward assists with administration and record management. Customers remain responsible for their training decisions, legal and regulatory obligations, accuracy of information entered, retention requirements and any professional judgement made using that information.
4. Subscriptions and payment
Paid access is subject to the subscription plan and billing cycle selected or otherwise agreed. Direct Debit payments may be collected through GoCardless. Applicable prices and any introductory terms will be shown or agreed before billing is established.
5. Failed payments
If a payment fails, we may provide a short period in which billing can be resolved. Continued non-payment may result in restricted or suspended access until the account is brought up to date.
6. Cancellation
A customer may request cancellation subject to the commercial terms applying to their subscription. Cancellation of a payment mandate alone does not necessarily remove outstanding amounts already due.
7. Founder Membership
Founder Membership is a limited early-partner programme. Founder pricing, access and protected periods are governed by the offer accepted by the Founder customer. Founder places are limited and are not transferable without agreement.
8. Acceptable use
CourseSteward must not be used unlawfully, to interfere with the service, to attempt unauthorised access to another organisation's data, to introduce malicious code, or in a way that materially threatens the security or availability of the platform.
9. Availability
We aim to provide a reliable service but cannot promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, infrastructure failures, security incidents and circumstances outside reasonable control may occasionally affect access.
10. Intellectual property
CourseSteward, its software, design and associated branding remain the property of Merewick Systems or its licensors. Customers retain responsibility for and rights in their own business data, subject to the rights needed for us to provide the service.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, CourseSteward is a business administration tool and should not be treated as a substitute for professional, legal, regulatory or safety judgement. Any detailed limitation of liability applying to a paid customer will be set out in the applicable customer agreement.
12. Ending access and data
When a subscription ends, access may be restricted and data handled in accordance with the applicable agreement, privacy policy, retention requirements and any reasonable export or deletion process made available by Merewick Systems.
13. Governing law
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, these terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
